Auction houses such as Christies, Sotheby's, and Antiquorum serve as a marketplace, provide data on recent sales, and offer detailed descriptions to determine comparable values.

An abundance of reference material, museum exhibits, and private collections also provide information on antique clocks and their makers.

Factors used to determine value are:

  • Maker and date of manufacture
  • Complications of the movement
  • Style and material of the case and the case maker
  • Originality of all the components
  • Rarity and provenance
  • Present condition

Our rare clocks can provide enjoyment beyond the decorative aspects of a ornately designed case or the melodious strikes of the bell or even a very specialized musical movement.
