pendule officier signed by Du Boiset Fils - Details:
This
finely cast and gilded case with enamel dial signed
Du Boiset Fils was made in France around 1770. Now
fitted with a high quality carriage clock movement
with lever platform escapement circa 1880 that strikes
on the hour and half hour on a gong with a repeat
button above the twelve.
By
combining the elaborate style an eighteenth century
case adorned with many intricate castings topped with
a serpentine handle with the reliability of a later
movement a beautiful yet functional timepiece is created.
The case is hallmarked OR GR on the left
side near the hinge for the fretted rear door.
