A
rare, possibly unique, French skeleton clock made
with ultra thin wheels.
The clock is fully striking but with only one winding
square; as once the going-train is wound it becomes
a remintoire for the strike train.
While the clock ticks it winds a small watch mainspring
that drives the bell strike-train with locking plate
mechanism.
The white enamel 6” diameter chapter ring has Arabic
numerals with an ornate ormolu bezel. The main frame
is made in the shape of a keyhole. It is not signed
by the maker but it is of very high quality and an
accurate time keeper. Eight day movement.
17.5 inches high w/o the glass dome.
Circa: 1845
